Swiggy looking to launch 10-minute food delivery concept across India

Swiggy is targeting to bring orders to customers in ten minutes flat. This move is part of the food delivery company’s new strategy to corner a bigger share of a cut-throat market.

In India, food deliveries typically take between 30 minutes and an hour.

In order to deliver food in 10 minutes, Swiggy will collaborate with caterers, food and beverages outlets and independent operators to set up assembly kitchens at short distances. The company will develop an exhaustive logistical blueprint before starting the 10-minute delivery concept across the country.

Swiggy will be introducing this service as a pilot project in cities including Bengaluru and Delhi, before expanding to others. However, those who would want to avail the express delivery service might have to pay an extra fee.

Recently, the company launched ‘Swiggy Stores’ for faster product delivery from kiranas and supermarkets.

The food delivery space is seeing fierce competition in India.
