Restaurants to close in most cities by 11, online delivery open till late in some parts

Restaurant in various parts of the country are allowed to open till 11 lately seeing the covid-19 pandemic. However, unlike other states Delhi is allowing celebrations but adhering to normal Covid-19 guidelines which are already in place.  The Govt has asked restaurants to host party with 50 per cent capacity.

Whereas in Mumbai, the restaurants will be closed after 11 PM, however, they are allowed to deliver food online post that.

“Don’t Stop The Party, Mumbai - Just Take It Indoors After 11:00! Restaurants are allowed to home deliver food in the city post 11:00pm. COVID-prevention norms will have to be followed to ensure Mumbai rings in the New Year with safety,” said a Tweet from BMC.

In Chennai all the bars in star hotels, resorts within the limits of Greater Chennai City Police have been ordered to shut by 10pm on New Year’s Eve. The 10pm curfew will be applicable to all the restaurants in and out of the star hotels in the limits of the city police.

Similarly, in an order issued on Monday, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant said Section 144 of CrPC (prohibiting the gathering of more than five people) will be imposed in Bengaluru from 6 pm on December 31 to 6 am on January 1, 2021, as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19.

Restaurants, bars, hotels, clubs and malls have been barred from holding any special events, DJ parties, performances or musical nights or bands. However, these establishments can run their usual business, including playing music within permitted decibel levels and can host customers who have prior bookings only.
