Popeyes to open its first restaurant in UK

American multinational fried chicken chain Popeyes is on expansion spree. After years of opening and expanding itself in the region, the QSR chain is opening its first dining restaurant in UK.

Though, it first opened its first unit in UK in November 2021.

Located at 67/68 High Street (CM1 1DH) in Chelmsford that is around 30 miles north of London, the store will be serving the Popeyes famous mouth-watering crunch and juicy fried chicken bursting with Louisiana flavor.

While it will be the UK’s first sit-down Popeyes with 46 seats, last November, it opened a pop-up stall in in Westfield Stratford shopping centre, east London.

The group is also planning to open more than 100 restaurants throughout the UK over the next decade, as per media reports.

Started in 1972 in New Orleans, Louisiana and headquartered in Miami, Florida, it is currently a subsidiary of Toronto-based Restaurant Brands International. As of 2020 Popeyes has 3,451 restaurants.
