Kishor Bajaj, the Man who Brought 1st Michelin Restaurant to India breathed his Last on 17th March

Founder of the Badasaab Group, a multi-dimensional enterprise with strategic outreaches in bespoke clothing, international luxury retail, corporate attire, and hospitality - Kishor Bajaj, a visionary in bringing the luxury dining experience to India breathed his last on 17th March, Friday.

Those who know Kishor Bajaj attest that his drive stems from an inherent and finely honed sense of hospitality and genuine warmth.

Providing international standards in food and service, he was the first restaurateur to bring Michelin restaurant Hakkasan to Mumbai in a stand-alone format.

Soon after Hakkasan, he brought down Yauatcha, London's favourite dim sum and tea house to Mumbai. In 2017, KA brought down Nara, Bangkok's go-to Thai institution, which brings this vibrant cuisine in a modern setting, complemented by warm Thai hospitality, in the heart of BKC and Colaba.

After introducing renowned global F&B brands to India, he ventured into cultivating homegrown brands, CinCin, an Italian-inspired restaurant and bar, that was launched in Mumbai in 2017.

His demise came as a shock for the sector and as soon as the news broke out, people started sharing their fond memory with him over the social media platform.

Sharing in an Instagram post, foodie and writer, Kunal Vijayakar wrote, “I am heartbroken to have lost my dear friend Kishor. And, though he had been unwell, I cannot believe he is gone from our lives.”
