Finnet Media Invests in Burmese Restaurant Chain, Burma-Burma and Tea Room

Finnet Media, an influencer management company focussing on infotainment focussed influencers, announces its investment in the Burmese restaurant chain – Burma Burma and Tea Room.

The restaurant chain has raised over $2 million in a seed funding round led by Mumbai-based investor Negen Capital.

The round also saw participation from other angels such as Bbigplas Poly.

With an aim to help creators further branch of their revenue stream, Finnet Media has encouraged building a fund with money pooled in from its current roster of influencers.

“We at Finnet Media are a coming of age brand and we thrive on experimentation. We are always inquisitive about newer avenues to expand Finnets footmarks. Coming from a finance background, my team and I observe businesses closely and are always happy to invest wherever we see the opportunity. Burma Burma is a personal favorite. With great food, ambience and a solid core team, we are certain that the brand is going to go places. We are very excited to be associated with the Burma Burma team and are looking forward to growing together,” shared Ayush Shukla, Founder of Finnet Media.

The restaurant was started in 2014 by Chirag Chhajer and Ankit Gupta in Mumbai. The duo has opened seven outlets across Mumbai, Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Bangalore, and Kolkata in the last nine years.

With this round of funding led by investment bankers Sarthak Ahuja and Aditi Randev of Niamh Ventures Pvt Ltd, the company plans on opening eight new outlets in the next fifteen months, taking the total to fourteen outlets.

“I’ve grown up eating the authentic Burmese dishes we serve at Burma Burma. My mother learnt these recipes while growing up in Burma before the migration in the 1960s. We’ve built on that authentic taste and brought to life the experience of Burma and its cuisine in all our restaurants,” shared Ankit Gupta, Co-founder, Burma Burma.

Adding on, Chirag Chhajer co-founder of the chain said, “Almost a decade into the business, we’ve thoroughly tested all four zones of the Indian market for Burmese cuisine. With this round, we aim to expand our operations in new cities and expand our base in existing ones. Infact, we’re now ready to take Burma Burma to the nex level not only in India but globally, and in this journey we are thrilled to have some of India’s best digital creators show faith in us.”

Launched in 2020, Finnet Media is the brainchild behind some of the most followed and sought after fin-influencers in India. With a vision to help creators grow financially while establishing their personal brand, Finnet Media today represents India’s best finance creators and is elevating the influencer-management landscape by exploring more growth avenues for its roster.
