Tea retailer Tea Box bags funding from Singapore based angel invsetor

Last year, it raised $6 million in Series A funding led by Singapore-based VC firm JAFCO Asia and existing investor Accel Partners, along with Keystone Group LP and Dragoneer Investment Group.

Ratan Tata backed speciality tea e-tailer Teabox.com has raised undisclosed amount from Singapore based angel investor and tea connoisseur Comeron Jones.

Operated by Bengaluru- and Singapore-based AsianTeaxpress Pte Ltd, the company has also raised venture debt from DBS Bank Limited, Tea Box shared in a statement.

Founded in 2012 by Kaushal Dugar, Teabox provides an online platform through which it ships fresh Indian tea to customers globally.

Last year, it raised $6 million in Series A funding led by Singapore-based VC firm JAFCO Asia and existing investor Accel Partners, along with Keystone Group LP and Dragoneer Investment Group.

In January Ratan Tata has also invested an undisclosed amount in the tea startup which works with about 200 plantations in Darjeeling, Assam and Nepal.
