Swiggy appoints Rahul Bothra as its first chief financial officer

Food delivery company Swiggy has appointed former Olam International executive Rahul Bothra as its first chief financial officer (CFO). Three years after it was launched, the Naspers-backed start-up is steadily beefing up its senior management as it looks to hire senior professionals in varied operational roles.

A Swiggy spokesperson confirmed the appointment by saying “As India’s leading food ordering and delivery platform, Swiggy is continuously looking to strengthen its team, including leadership, to support and enable its growth and increased scale of business. Rahul Bothra has come on board as the CFO to build on this growth, and deliver greater efficiency and value to the business and Swiggy’s ecosystem of partners.”

Swiggy is also in the last leg of hiring senior executives to take on the role of chief operating officer for the overall business as also to lead its cloud kitchen business with the appointments expected to close in the next couple of weeks.
