McDonald's plans to re-open in Ukraine in phased manner

QSR chain McDonald’s has announced that it is planning to reopen outlets in Ukraine which closed in March because of the war between Russia and Ukraine.

According to the message posted on the website, this move would help restore a small but important sense of normalcy.

As per the reports, there will be a phased reopening over the next several months in Kyiv and western Ukraine in areas deemed safe.

"We've spoken extensively to our employees who have expressed a strong desire to return to work and see our restaurants in Ukraine reopen, where it is safe and responsible to do so," shared Paul Pomroy, Senior VP, McDonald’s in a message posted on the brand’s website.

McDonald's operate more than 100 restaurants in Ukraine before the conflict started and it has continued to pay wages to more than 10,000 staff since then.
